Rosamond Girls U-16 Soccer

This is the ultra secret and hidden page specifically designed for the

players and families of the U-19 girls soccer team!

Starting in April girls from Desert, Mojave and Rosamond High Schools will join forces to play in the Lancaster United Soccer League.  AYSO is starting a new program designed to keep our kids from leaving AYSO to join club teams.  The program is called AYSO Extra and we hope by starting off in the Lancaster League we can establish ourselves and create an AYSO Extra team.  While the league is not endorsed by AYSO, the girls are sure to stay in shape and prepare themselves for the upcoming AYSO and High School seasons.  The games are played on Saturdays (and occasionally Sundays) and quite often may be double headers.   Chuck McKaughan and John Trujillo will coach the team.  Both coaches are certified Advanced coaches and have been coaching for over 35 years collectively.

Chuck is the coach at Rosamond High School and has coached at Paraclete and Highland High Schools.  He has had the privilege of seeing many of his players go up to the college and national ranks.  Six of the projected AVC starters next season are girls that Chuck coached.  Chuck is also a part of the Lancaster Rattlers staff and serves as the team statistician.

The game times and dates will be posted on this page as soon as they are received.  The season is scheduled to run through the beginning of September.

The reality is grades and your SAT scores are almost more important than your soccer ability.  Normally high SAT scores can offset a low GPA, and a high GPA can offset a lower SAT score.  Most universities are looking for Varsity playing time.  Club teams are important but there are a lot of places that do not have club teams (AYSO or a similar program is all that is available).  Attending an in residence summer camp is important as most scouts will attend a camp rather than go to several different schools.  Always encourage your high school coach to provide articles to the local newspaper and other media.  Have your parents (or a professional) take lots of photos and movies of you playing.  Find the school(s) you are interested in going to and make contact with the coaching staff.
