Rosamond, California

Hello Everyone,

I cannot believe we are already getting ready to kick off the 2009 season.  On March 7, 2009 we will kick off the first of several registration events.  Please check our website at www.rosamondayso.com for more information on all of our registration and important dates.  Last year we had to establish a waiting list as we had more players than coaches, so please register early so that we can get coaches for all the teams.

This past season saw a growth in our program and our small Region sent teams into the Area D Play-Offs and All-Star tournaments.  Our players are learning new skills from coaches that have dedicated themselves to learning this wonderful game.

At the Regional level, here in Rosamond, volunteers are our LIFELINE.    No one on the Regional, Area or Sectional staffs is paid.  All of our volunteers give their valuable time for our children, and volunteers are always needed.  At the team level, volunteers can coach, serve as a team parent, assist with field maintenance and be a member of our cheer squad!  Referees are always in need and we will provide you with a world class training program as well as letting you progress at your own level.  Board members, field monitors and the training staff are another part of our integral staff.  Please consider volunteering, and helping our children.  Whether you can provide hours at a time or just a few moments each week, there is a position for you!

AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) takes pride in being recognized as the premier youth sports organization in the United States.  The AYSO national training program is the only youth sports program with a National accreditation.  Coaching, Management and Management courses are taught by certified instructors that ensure that the National guidelines are met by each volunteer.  There are over 150 different volunteer positions within AYSO, and I am asking for your support.

Our organization started in 1964 in Hawthorne, California with a few players.  Now the AYSO has over 650,000 players, not including the thousands of volunteers needed to keep everything flowing smoothly.

Within AYSO the Regions are allowed to establish local policies that are best for their volunteers and youth.  Region 827 continues to implement many positive changes providing the foundation for success in our Region.

If you have any questions, concerns or comments please contact any of our board members.  A listing of our board and other useful information can be found throughout this website.

On behalf of our Regional Board, and all of our children, thank you so much for being a part of the Rosamond AYSO, Region 827.

Sincerely,

Vinnie Otis

Regional Commissioner
